Exhibition invitation

WILD / DOMESTICATED – VILL / TEMMA

Welcome to Granborg, May 22-25.

I’m excited to open the forest garden, the backyard, and the annex studio for you to get a glimpse into my world. It’s surreal, magical, and pragmatic all at once.

WILD / DOMESTICATED is my overarching project where I explore the contrasts of the civilized world in interaction with life in nature. Over the past decade, I’ve focused on projects inspired by deep ecology, directly related to the nature around me. My works are about the hope for preserving diversity, the prayer for peace, and gratitude for the resources the earth provides. I use site-specific video, sound recordings, and photography.

Recently, a nature map from the Norwegian Environment Agency revealed that parts of the property here have some old-growth forest. I’m thrilled about that, despite the clear-cut field nearby, despite the hellish wars in the world.

I’m delighted that the exhibition here at Granborg has been invited as part of Slunakov EDO 2025, the Olomouc Environmental Days Festival in the Czech Republic. In practice, this means that images and video documentation from the exhibition will be published on their website. The short film “Mirabelle’s Bloom” will be shown in good company during EDO’s lecture series and at the Museum of Modern Art in Olomouc, April 11-14.

As of now, I haven’t received funding for the realization. The exhibition is being set up with the help of my closest family and friends. You are warmly welcome to contribute by purchasing an original mini cyanotype for NOK 200. I can send it to you by mail.

Enjoy the spring, I hope to see you in the forest.
