“When I’m sitting here in the north, in the white, cold snow and knits, I think also about Gandhis practical meditation where he sat and spun the thread to the clothes he went with. He made an active action in contemplation. Gandhi spoke, and showed the non-violence practice and I want my art expression to conjure the same.
Researchers in the United Nations climate panel has said his. The world is heading toward collapse. Why don´t we do more? It can not be possible that economical and political considerations must take precedence before world peace and survival?
In Indian philosophy, to be close to nature have a strong meaning and relate us to life and death. In rituals, different aspects of life and ancestors is honored and receive much attention. Rituals turns out to reinforce the connection between man and nature.
“White” is inspired by the rituals and seeks to express a personal way from awareness about the climate crisis and the violence in the world, towards contemplation and action for change.
Could a ritual and emotional approach to our nature support us on the path towards a greater shared responsibility?

«Når jeg sitter her i nord, i den hvite, kalde snøen og strikker, tenker jeg også på Gandhis praktiske meditasjon der han i dagliglivet satt og spant tråden til klærne han gikk med. Han gjør en aktiv handling i kontemplasjon. Gandhi talte, og viste ikke-voldens praksis og jeg ønsker i mine kunstuttrykk å mane til det samme.
Forskerne i FN´s klimapanel har sagt sitt. Verden er på vei mot kollaps. Hvorfor gjør vi ikke mere? Det kan jo ikke være mulig at økonomiske og politiske hensyn skal gå foran verdens fred og overlevelse?
I indianernes filosofi har nærheten til naturen en sterk betydning, og knytter seg til liv og død. I ritualer blir forskjellige aspekter ved livet og forfedre æret og får stor oppmerksomhet. Ritualene viser seg å forsterke forbindelsen mellom mennesket og naturen.
«Hvit» er inspirert av ritualene og søker å utrykke en personlig vei fra bevisstgjøring om klimakrisen og volden i verden, fram mot kontemplasjon og handling for forandring.
